There's almost too many, I squawked at Danny Macnamara so loud going into the Blank Canvas he absolutely shat his pants. Feel a bit guilty about that now as he seems like an alright dude.
Brazza karate chopping my full pint glass in half in the pub before a gig at Brixton Academy.
Seeing them at the Cockpit underage with all you lot buying me alcopops haha - the same night the sound went and we all kept singing 💛
Literally about to say, that cockpit gig when the sound went out during truth is no words , yeah ?
Barnsley was a bit special too, me and ovy making a beeline from the back through the oversold crowd
@Meefloaf Barnslol Lucorum was mint!
Barnsley was not social distanced
Cockpit was legendary.
Tunesy wearing a Policeman's hat at the Astoria, xfm gig I think.
I seem to recall getting back from London that day for the Cockpit gig and making the stupid choice of wearing a duffle coat to a gig, was roasting in there.
Best for me, purely for the weekend and antics and poppers, Blackpool
Barrowlands
Seeing them for first time in '01, Rock City in '03, both nights at Cambridge in '04 and Last Dance. Plus anytime they went apeshit with drums on Bleed and the show with The Coral in '02... most of that tour got canned I think.
Sheffield Leadmill was the only gig they did with the coral in the end. Great night that
I saw them with the coral at Sheffield leadmill on that tour, went up with 4 mates who were not into guitar bands but they were blown away, I think Rob struggled a,touch that gig with his voice, then they cancelled the rest of the dates with laryngitis being the official story, I had tickets for Oxford a couple of weeks later but a band called goldrush replaced them, I was devastated, but still went for the coral, amazing times, pure excitement, scanning the nme for gig announcements, getting trains, smoking weed, the opening guitars of the dance, feels like yesterday and a lifetime ago in equal measure.. Bitter sweet
Leeds Town Hall
First time supporting oasis Manchester, not heard any of their tunes just saw some pics in the nme, life changing, was depressed as soon as they left the stage, me and my mate walked out of oasis set 3/4 way through, they seemed tired, dull and the magic from 93-97 had long gone, the music were the future me and night went back to the hotel and smoked hash all night talking about the gig, the you might as well ep came out not long after, that cemented it for me.. Nothing has come close since
Two Paris gigs. one with New Order (Hawksley Workman was captivating in his own way) and the other at the Stade de France with U2.
